I have a special connection with mountains. After many years of traveling to majestic mountain regions, I always feel overwhelmed when looking up at the massive formations hidden in the clouds. Standing in front of mountains, humans seem so small. The higher and wider the mountains, the more I feel my own insignificance in front of nature. Perhaps that is why the more I admire mountains, the more I think about humanity.
Mountains are not formed by accumulation but by the collision of great tectonic plates, pushing and rising into towering peaks (or erupting in the case of volcanoes). Humanity is the same — we reach the heights of knowledge through friction, exchange, and the clash of different cultures and philosophies. These encounters, whether peaceful or through conflict, drive human intelligence to rise and create new level. The painting “Mountain 01” is the first breakthrough piece, marking the beginning of a series depicting mountains, beneath which lies the immense energy of great civilizations.
