Series: Conceiving

The paintings in the Conceiving series depict structures covered with tarpaulins during construction. These are typical scenes in cities that are constantly expanding across Vietnam. Hidden beneath those construction sheets are buildings gradually taking shape—promises in progress. Each painting, therefore, not only captures the present moment but also serves as a landscape of the future.
In terms of visual design, my series of paintings uses the same imagery of construction site tarpaulins that other artists have also explored. A notable example is artist Nguyen The Son, who has developed this imagery in his own unique direction. I also drew some inspiration from the works of Christo and Jean-Claude; however, while their artworks wrap entire structures to evoke curiosity, my work shapes the tarpaulin into sculptural forms, guiding viewers to freely unleash their imagination.
